Fans cheer for Konami's Silent Hill: Ascension debut

Fans of the Silent Hill series were eagerly awaiting the October 31 debut of the interactive game Silent Hill: Ascension, but now many are expressing disappointment. In recent years, it has been widely believed that Konami is too focused on the money it can make from its IPs, and the recent release of Silent Hill: Ascension seems to confirm this for many gamers.

Silent Hill: Ascension is an interactive show, kind of like a community-driven Until Dawn. Each day a new scene will play out, where viewers will make decisions about key plot points, and the consequences of those decisions will become Silent Hill canon. At the end of the week, all the scenes merge into one addictive episode. But even those who can't attend the live experience of Silent Hill: Ascension can join later, as all scenes are available on VOD and can be voted on at least 24 hours in advance.

The core premise of Silent Hill: Ascension is that influence points, also known as IPs, are used to vote on decisions. The more influential a person is, the more influence their vote will have on the final decision and can even influence other viewers to vote a certain way. There's also a cameo competition, and the winner can appear on the show and become part of the official Silent Hill canon. However, if you want to participate in the competition, you need more influence points.
